Homebuilders have used lots of methods and materials to pass wires and cables through the firewall - SOME OF THEM ARE VERY UNSAFE !!   In an accident, the sharp stainless steel firewall can cut wire insulation and short battery and alternator cables to airframe ground - CAUSING FIRES WHERE THERE OTHERWISE MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN A FIRE.
Because of fuel and force fed airflow, engine fires are often extremely hot and quickly melt simple, inappropriate grommets and other "sealing" materials, allowing fire to pass into the cabin. Such solutions are not appropriate for Experimental Aviation.

And, as with every SafeAir1 kit, the Firewall Pass-Thru System comes with everything you need... including clear, concise instructions and images to insure a proper, successful installation.

Most builders will utilize two Firewall Pass-Thru units:

  • One for high current cables (battery, alternator, and Main Buss power) and...
  • A second Pass-Thru for small signal wires such as EGT/CHT and other engine instrumentation and control functions.
