   Van's RV-4 lends itself very well to additional fuel for owners who use the airplane for cross country operations. Hotel Whiskey Aviation originally designed the ER Tanks with the RV-4 in mind. Main fuel tanks in the RV-4 are the shortest of all the RVs which allows a relatively long ER Tank to be installed. The ER Tanks add range while improving overall performance and safety of the RV-4.

   ER Tanks for the RV-4 add 8.2 gallons of capacity; 4.1 gallons per side.

ER Tanks for the RV-4 utillize a differential venting system to facilitate fuel transfer. Here you can see the vent plumbing.

Newer ER Tank designs incorporate a fuel filler cap of the same type found on the RV main tanks.
