Remote Compass Mount... Available Now at SafeAir1

Fast and Reliable Installation for your Dynon Remote Compass Module

The SafeAir1 Remote Compass Mount installs the Dynon Remote Compass Module in compliance with Dynon's recommendations.

Compatibility: Works with Dynon Remote Compass Modules EDC-D10 and EDC-D10A. The Remote Compass Module requires that it be installed with the Pitch and Roll axes parallel to the respective axes of the EFIS housing.

The Remote Compass Mount is pre-fabricated and comes complete with low ferrous (stainless steel) hardware. The kit ensures a high-quality installation of the Dynon Remote Compass Module.

The image at left shows the EDC-D10A module installed toward the rear of the wing rib in the left wingtip area on an RV-6. Proper strain relief is allowed for the signal cable which is adequately supported.

The Dynon EDC-D10A and EDC-D10 Remote Compass Module permits magnetic heading to be sensed in an area of the aircraft where magnetic interference is minimal. Positioning is critical, so the instructions in the installation guide should be closely adhered to. Following calibration, the remote compass will yield excellent results with an accuracy of just a couple degrees.

The remote compass is available as an option for the EFIS-D10 and EFIS-D10A, which has a set of internal magnetic sensors. Both the EFIS-D100 and the FlightDEK-D180 come with the remote compass module standard.

Installation takes about one hour and does not require any special tools other than a digital level which, if you don't have one, can often be borrowed for an afternoon.

The mount, with its totally symmetrically designed parts, allows installation in either wingtip while accomplishing the goal of properly orienting the module.
