The NEW SafeAir1 Pitot
Masts are made from 6061 weldable aluminum and finished in a high
quality anodizing process.
Weighing in at only 2.5
Ounces, these new Masts are less than half the weight of the previous
design using 4130 steel. Some competitor's models may weigh up
to one pound.
Builder may apply paint
or powder coating as desired. The units can be painted in any
color.
SafeAir1 previously sold
nearly 1000 of the earlier steel Pitot Mast units. We believe
this new design, manufactured with 6061 aluminum will be an even
more popular solution for the RV builder.

Mast is installed just
outboard of inspection panel in lower aft wing skin. A cutting
template is provided to assist in cutting out the streamline tubing
shape. Next, the "joggle" tab is match-drilled with
the lower spar flange, then the mounting plate is fastened into
the spar flange and wing skin, (see cleco locations above). Typical
installation takes about 90 minutes and requires only common RV
building tools.
